Why did you choose this book?
I was introduced to Ruth by a business coach friend. After recovering from domestic violence, Ruth now helps other women find their own freedom in life as well as business.
What’s it about?
It’s a combination of Ruth’s journey to free herself from domestic violence as well as practical strategies to do the same for yourself, although there’s so much in it for any single mum, including chapters on forgiveness, taking control of your emotions, healing, becoming self-aware and finding the support you need to make meaningful change in your life.
How long did it take you to read?
It only took a couple of night to read, although I’ve read back through the chapters again to take notes.
Would you recommend it? Why or why not?
If you’ve experienced domestic violence, this is a great resource to know that you’re not alone and that life can really change. Even if you haven’t experienced domestic abuse, there’s still a lot to be learned from Ruth’s wisdom along the way. My favorite was the chapter on taking control of your life. An empowering read for anyone feeling stuck in their current life situation.
